Bridesmaids on course to gross +$22 million >> Deadline

Preliminary box office reports are suggesting that Kristen Wiig's Bridesmaids is on course to gross an impressive $22 million this weekend. This is great for a number of reasons, chief among them being the fact that an impressive box office performance from Bridesmaids will lead to Hollywood taking more chances on comedies created by and starring women.

Kristen Wiig has been on a media blitz of sorts lately promoting her upcoming comedy "Bridesmaids" - which, lest ye forget, hits theaters this Friday. 
The New York Times has a feature on the film (which can be read here) and Wiig was interviewed by Time and The Wall Street Journal. Additionally, Wiig will appear on Monday's installment of Letterman and Friday's edition of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Of course, Bridesmaids is earning wonderful notices, with its Rotten Tomatoes score currently standing at a healthy 85%, with the consensus being that it will appeal to male and female audiences alike.

As you all know, Seth Meyers is hosting the White House Correspondents Dinner tonight. But did you know that you guys can watch Meyers rock it out? You can, guys!

MSNBC and C-SPAN are airing the event, which sees Washington's elite hobnob with several figures from the world of film and television. C-SPAN will cover the arrivals starting at 6.45PM on both TV and via a live stream. MSNBC's coverage will begin at 9.30PM.

This year will see folks like SNL's Jason Sudeikis, Paul Rudd, Steve Buscemi, Jane Lynch, Mindy Kaling, Kate Hudson, Chris Colfer, Sean Penn, Elizabeth Banks, Jon Hamm, Zach Galifianakis, Anna Paquin, Melissa Leo, Rashida Jones, Mila Kunis, Joan Rivers and a whole host of other awesome people. Jason Sudeikis to host MTV Movie Awards

Ryan Seacrest reported this morning that SNL's Jason Sudeikis will host this summer's MTV Movie Awards! He follows in the footsteps of the likes of Aziz Ansari, Andy Samberg, Sarah Silverman, Jimmy Fallon, Mike Myers and more. This year's ceremony will take place on June 5.
