What Are The Cast Doing

Now that SNL is in the off-season, I know many of you are wondering just what the cast are doing when there's no Saturday Night Live to keep them occupied and busy. Well, I've decided to compile all the cast's current projects in this easy-to-read blog. Enjoy!

FRED ARMISEN:
A search through Armisen's IMDb listing does not yield much information, aside from one tidbit which says that he plays "Host" in an upcoming movie entitled "Post Grad" which is due for release on August 21. The movie stars Alexis Bledel as a college graduate who can't get her life together. The film also stars other funny people like Jane Lynch, Demetri Martin and Carol Burnett. The trailer can be viewed here:

In the meantime, I'm sure Armisen will be kept busy planning his wedding to Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss.

WILL FORTE:
Will Forte recently announced that a MacGruber movie is in the works, and that he has co-written a script with SNL writers Jorma Taccone and John Solomon. The film will feature himself and Kristen Wiig, which additional casting still to be determined. In the meantime, he has been doing a lot of voiceover work for shows like American Dad and Sit Down, Shut Up!, the latter of which did not fare too well ratings-wise on Fox. A film starring himself and Jason Sudeikis called "A Good Old Fashioned Orgy" is in post-production, but from what I can tell, no release date has been announced. Meanwhile, Forte is still in the company of performers of Celebrity Autobiography which recently won the Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience. Check out the show's official website here:

BILL HADER:
Bill Hader is a busy bunny, currently shooting the Simon Pegg/Nick Frost/Greg Mottola movie "Paul" alongside a score of other funny people including Seth Rogen, Jason Bateman, Jane Lynch, Joe Lo Truglio and Kristen Wiig. He has two animated features due out including Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs in which he voices the main character Flint Lockwood, and Hoodwinked 2 : Hood vs. Evil. Both of those will be released in 2010. He announced earlier this year that he & Simon Rich had penned a slasher movie called House of Joel which may be produced by comedy extraordinaire Judd Apatow. To top it all off, he can be seen in Year One which opens this weekend and stars Jack Black & Michael Cera.

SETH MEYERS:
Seth Meyers just finished hosting the prestigious Webby Awards which honour excellence in something techy. Aside from that project, it would appear that young Meyers has his summer schedule free of any side-projects and is most likely focusing on the upcoming Weekend Update series which he will be anchoring this fall. IMDb has him listed as the writer and star of Key Party, a movie based on an SNL skit but there is little mention of this project anywhere else on the web, and it hasn't entered any sort of pre-production. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if it materialises.

ANDY SAMBERG:
Andy Samberg just finished hosting the MTV Awards (which are nowhere near as prestigious as the Webbies) and doesn't have a whole lot of projects lined up this summer, though I'm assuming he's got a lot of plans. IMDb lists him as a voice in the upcoming Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, and that's his only upcoming project. For now.

KENAN THOMPSON:
Andy Samberg is not the only SNL star without a heap on his plate. Kenan Thompson was a voice on the essentially cancelled Sit Down, Shut Up and the only other project lined up is a movie called Stan Helsing which only has a release date in Finland as of yet. He does do the voice of a LeBron James puppet in some ads for Nike alongside David Allan Grier who voices Kobe Bryant. The ads can be viewed here:

KRISTEN WIIG:

By far the busiest of the cast is Kristen Wiig who has eight high-profile projects lined up. She stars in the upcoming Drew Barrymore roller-derby movie Whip It!, the drama-mystery All Good Things, Mike Judge's movie Extract & How To Train Your Dragon, all of which are in post-production. She is currently filming the previously mentioned Paul which is directed by Greg Mottola. She will also star in next year's Date Night which has one of the greatest casts ever assembled for a comedy, with Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Mark Wahlberg, James Franco, Mila Kunis, Leighton Meester, Mark Ruffalo, Ray Liotta & Taraji P. Henson all due to star. In addition to all that, she will voice characters for Despicable Me & Flanimals. Not bad, huh?

ABBY ELLIOTT:

If her IMDb listing is anything to go by, it would seem that Abby is chillaxing for the summer, but most likely she will be performing at LA's UCB Theatre and making comedy shorts with her fellow Upright Citizens.

BOBBY MOYNIHAN:

Bobby Moynihan has finished shooting roles for the upcoming "Invention of Lying" or "This Side of The Truth" as it was previously known, a film written by and starring Ricky Gervais and When In Rome which stars Kristen Bell & Josh Duhamel. Bobby has also joined the company of Celebrity Autobiography and will be performing in the show next Monday. It also seems that
Bobby has been performing improv across the country with UCB if this review from Charleston City Paper is anything to go by.

MICHAELA WATKINS
Michaela has completed shooting for a movie called The Prankster and is currently shooting a supporting role in a Jennifer Lopez movie called The Back-Up Plan. Like some of her SNL co-stars, she is in the company of performers of Celebrity Autobiography so I'm sure you can catch her there at some point over the summer.

CASEY WILSON
As I mentioned yesterday, Wilson can be seen in the upcoming Julie & Julia. She will also be seeen in Five Killers, a comedy/action/thriller starring Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl. She mentioned in an interview last summer that she and her writing partner June Diane Raphael were writing a low-budget movie for themselves to be in and they were doing a rewrite of an America Ferrera movie. In the meantime - I hate to sound like a broken record - but she is in the company of performers for Celebrity Autobiography. Also, you can probably catch her at UCB's theatre in LA at various points over the summer.
