Mr. Hammond himself has confirmed that he retired from Saturday Night Live last year. He tells GossipCop.com that despite his retirement he will continue to appear on SNL on a "case-by-case basis", i.e whenever Bill Hader can't do an impression.
Darrell has been at the show since 1994 & is SNL's longest-running cast member.
