Saturday Night Live @ The Comedy Awards

First and foremost, many congratulations to Kristen Wiig who was named Best Comedy Actress - TV at the inaugural Comedy Awards last night. She beat out a formidable line-up of comedy superstarlets including Tina Fey, Betty White, Jane Lynch and Jane Krakowski to take the top honour. Elsewhere, Saturday Night Live lost out in Best Sketch/Alternative Comedy Series to Children's Hospital and in Best Comedy Directing - TV to Modern Family. SNL still managed to harbour a significant presence at the show, however, with Bill Hader presenting an award and The Lonely Island teaming up with Akon to perform I Just Had Sex.
