Kristen Wiig Q&A with Vanity Fair

Kristen Wiig Q&A with Vanity Fair!

Sample answer where Kristen discusses Will Forte -

So you’re claiming that he exaggerated the extent of his public nudity?
Well, he was definitely nude. And don’t let him kid you, he’s like that on Saturday Night Live too. It could be the middle of winter in New York, it doesn’t matter. He’ll be naked. (Laughs.) He’s one of the most free-spirited, wonderfully joyful people I’ve ever met in my life. And I think that really comes across, even when he’s playing an asshole like MacGruber. He’s a lovable asshole.

Yes, the day has finally arrived. MacGruber hits theatres today! Do your funny bone a solid and go see it! And after you see it, tell me what you thought of it in the comments! Anybody who saw an advanced screening - leave a comment too!
I'm going to have to wait for a copy to show up online. Oh, the inconvenience of living in Ireland. Anyhows, enjoy it! By all accounts, it's all kinds of funny!

Seth Meyers on the BS Report (PODCAST)

Seth Meyers on The BS Report.

News from NBC Upfronts

”Saturday Night Live” will go primetime in a big way in the fall.
The show is marking its 35th anniversary this year, and NBC will celebrate with a three-hour prime-time special during the fall. No date is set; the 35th anniversary of “SNL’s” very first show is Oct. 11, which is a Monday.
NBC aired an “SNL” 25th anniversary special in 1999 that featured a wealth of clips, appearances by former cast members and hosts and a star-studded audience.

Well, this is very exciting indeed. Anything that brings back favourite hosts (Justin Timberlake, Jon Hamm anyone?) and old cast members is a win in my book.

Alec Baldwin Delivers Highest-Rated SNL Finale In Five Years

The 35th season finale of “Saturday Night Live” has delivered the show’s highest metered-market household rating for a season-ender in five years, according to “live plus same day” in-home viewing figures from the 56 local markets metered by Nielsen Media Research. With a telecast hosted by Alec Baldwin and featuring musical guest Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, last night’s “Saturday Night Live” averaged a 5.8 household rating, 14 share in the metered markets. That’s the highest for An “SNL” season finale since May 21, 2005 with a telecast hosted by Lindsay Lohan (6.2/15).

Leave it to Jack Donaghy.
Will Forte Q&A!

Expect a lot of these in the coming weeks.
Sample answer -

Twitter questions from...
@JulieShenkman: How do you usually spend a Sunday after a full week at SNL?

God, we go nuts at “SNL.” It’s such hard work. We basically have two all nighters. On Tuesday night we’re writing all night. Saturday night after the show we have an after-party and then we blow off steam and sometimes stay up pretty late, much later than we probably should. So a lot of Sunday is just spent sleeping in and recharging batteries. My favorite Sundays are Sundays in the fall when I can just kind of wake up right around when the football games are starting.

Honourable mentions for class-act hosts - Gabourey Sidibe, Charles Barkley, Joseph Gordon-Levitt

MVP of the season - Jason Sudeikis
Now, I've always really liked Jason Sudeikis but I feel like he became a force to be reckoned with this season and was the saving grace of a lot of so-so sketches. Whether he is being deadpan or impersonating Adam Lambert or playing the Devil at Update, Sudeikis killed every time rarely having to resort to over-the-top antics or outlandish characters to get a laugh.
Special mention goes to Kenan Thompson who also became a highly valued player this season creating probably the most-loved recurring sketch of the season, What Up With That? Kenan is a consummate showman and puts 110% into everything he's a part of and I'm glad that he really got to show off his goods this season.

Now, over to you? Who were your favourite/least favourite hosts of the season? Favourite shows? Your MVP of the season? Comment, comment, comment!
