Report - Elisabeth Moss and Fred Armisen Split

From LA Times -

"Mad Men" actress Elisabeth Moss has split from her "Saturday Night Live" funnyman husband Fred Armisen, a new report says.
Married only 10 months, "Fred and Elisabeth separated in May" a source tells Life & Style Weekly.
"Fred is currently in Portland, Ore. on the set of his new series 'Portlandia.' Elisabeth is in L.A. focusing on her career and spending quiet time with friends,"  the source added.
The news comes as a bit of a shock, given the pair's aww-shucks cuteness. In January, Moss told the Ministry she was preparing to officially take Armisen's last name.
"It's complicated, you know, taxes and paperwork and stuff. Eventually I'll get around to it, but when I call places and leave my name, it's always 'Mrs. Armisen,'" she said at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards.
Not anymore, from the looks of it. Reps for both actors did not immediately return calls for comment.

First Look at cast of "Bridesmaids"

This is the first photo from Bridesmaids to be released. Pictured above are Melissa McCarthy, Ellie Kemper, Rose Byrne, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig.
EW featured the film in its massive fall issue and Wiig, who co-wrote the movie, had this to say about it -

"It's more of a story about friendship than a 'wedding movie'. There's a weird pressure in society, and in a lot of these kinds of movies, that says you need to be married. We were careful about avoiding that."

You excited about Bridesmaids?

More about Fred Armisen's IFC Series

Per a press release -

"IFC has greenlit "Portlandia," an original short-based comedy series that lovingly illustrates the people and values of Portland, Ore. Fred Armisen ("SNL") and Carrie Brownstein (vocalist/guitarist, "Sleater-Kinney") star in the series, alongside guest stars Kyle MacLachlan ("Twin Peaks," "Sex & The City") and Aubrey Plaza ("Parks and Recreation"). Armisen and Brownstein write the series with Allison Silverman ("The Colbert Report") and Jonathan Krisel ("SNL," "Tim and Eric"), who is also the series’ director. The series is executive produced by Lorne Michaels. "Portlandia" begins production later this month and is shot entirely on location in Portland.
"This series truly personifies the sharp-cool-twisted filter of IFC’s programming," said Debbie DeMontreux, senior vice president of original programming for IFC. "Fred and Carrie are amazing artists and their distinct sense of humor makes this show uniquely IFC and sets it apart from anything else on television. We’re equally excited to work with Lorne and Broadway Video given their legacy of producing such well known and well regarded shows."
"I’m so excited about working on this," said Armisen. "It’s a passion project I have been working on with Carrie Brownstein for a while, and I can’t think of a better way to spend my off seasons from SNL. Working with Lorne has been especially nice."
Each half-hour episode of "Portlandia" will include interwoven short films starring Armisen and Brownstein, which portray the progressive personalities, aesthetics, and values of "Portlandia", the creators’ dreamy and absurd rendering of Portland, Ore. In the series’ premiere, viewers will meet the owners of a feminist book store; a militant bike messenger; an artsy couple who put cut-outs of birds on everything; and a punk rock couple negotiating a "safe word" to help govern their love life. The first episode also depicts Armisen and Brownstein meeting with the Mayor of Portland (Kyle MacLachlan) who solicits the duo to write a new theme song for the city in a segment that also features the real mayor of Portland (Sam Adams) playing the assistant to MacLachlan’s "mayor." That theme song, and all the series’ original music, is written and performed by Armisen and Brownstein."
Sounds interesting, huh?

Will Chevy Chase host SNL?

Came across this little tidbit at CliqueClack in which they asked SNL alum/Community star Chevy Chase at Comic-Con if he would be at all interested in hosting SNL. Here's what he had to say -

CliqueClack: Is there any chance you’d be a guest on SNL, now that you’re on Community?
Chevy Chase: I don’t know … I think Lorne [Michaels] is angry at me for some reason.
CligueClack: I thought I had heard something about that.
Chevy Chase: I don’t know why. I think it’s because I let Donald [Glover] into the room one night when we were watching something in Lorne’s office. (to Glover) Do you know why he’s angry?
Donald Glover: NoI don’t talk to him.
Chevy Chase: I think Lorne’s pissed at me. I’m not sure why. I’m really half kidding. I do like to go and watch the show and stuff. I did say once to Lorne, “Hey, now’s the time! I should be hosting! To promote my show.” And he sorta sneered. And then I realized, well, that’s because the other show, with Amy [Poehler] (Parks & Recreation)! Why would he promote mine? [Note: Later Chase said he meant Tina Fey, with 30 Rock.]
What do you think? Do you want to see Chevy Chase host?

Jane Lynch hosting SNL October 9

Movieline is reporting that Glee star Jane Lynch has been tapped to host the October 9 edition of Saturday Night Live. The Emmy-nominated actress has a history in sketch comedy performing having studied and performed at Second City for many years. Lynch has had roles in comedies such as Role Models, The 40 Year Old Virgin and Best In Show, but it's her role as villainous cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester that has catapulted her to stardom.

Still no word on who will host the season premiere of SNL, but I'm very excited for Lynch's show. I'm an unabashed Gleek, but have also been a fan of Lynch for years and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us.

I'm rooting for Michael Cera to host the season premiere - who do you want to see host?
