Jenny Slate Interview

Check out this great interview with SNL's new girl Jenny Slate -

From it we learn that -
  1. Jenny Slate has a role in the upcoming series Bored To Death
  2. Jenny Slate has a role in the upcoming series Brothers (but they are writing her character out thanks to her new gig at SNL.
  3. Her favourite recent SNL sketch is the now infamous Will Forte/Peyton Manning dance sketch.

I gotta say the more I hear about Jenny Slate, the more I like her & am interested to see what she does at Saturday Night Live.

First Four Hosts Announced

And they are as follows -

Megan Fox/U2
Ryan Reynolds/Lady Gaga
Drew Barrymore/Regina Spektor
Gerard Butler/Shakira

Okay so thoughts -

Ryan Reynolds and Gerard Butler are probably my two least favourite actors at the moment. BUT, I think Ryan Reynolds could do a really great job. Gerard Butler on the other hand - not so much. I love Drew Barrymore so I'm glad to see her return. I like the musical choices except for Shakira.

What do you think? Are you excited/disappointed for these first four shows?

Casey Wilson Fired Because of Her Weight?

So, I really hope that there's no truth to this story, but E!'s Ted Casablanca is reporting that according to sources, Casey was told to lose 30 pounds during the summer hiatus and when she didn't lose the weight - well, she was given the heave-ho.

If this is true, then I'm frankly kind of disturbed. Firstly, Casey Wilson was a curvy woman who was by no means fat & in need of losing 30 pounds. Secondly, even if she was fat, why should her TV career be put in jeopardy because of it? As the E! article states, SNL has embraced larger men like Chris Farley & John Belushi, and I'm sure they were never asked to drop a couple of pounds. Hell, I'm sure Kenan Thompson and Bobby Moynihan would never be put under that sort of pressure to lose weight.

As I've said, I have no idea how truthful this claim is, but if it is true then I have lost an enormous amount of respect for Lorne Michaels, Marci Klein & co.

Jenny Slate Short

I know lots of people are curious about SNL's new girls Jenny Slate & Nasim Pedrad.

Well, here's a short written by and starring Jenny Slate and her comedic other half Gabe Liedman. It's a short, silent film that was commissioned by the MoMA for Pop Rally's "SILENT BUT DEADLY - AN EVENING OF COMEDY SHORTS". It's really hilarious, and if it's an indication of what we can expect from Jenny, then I'm very excited to have her join SNL. Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig Will NOT Be Weekend Update Anchor

EW's Michael Ausiello has once and for all shot down the rumour that Kristen Wiig is set to join Seth Meyers on the Weekend Update desk. A source from within the show insists that it is an internet-fuelled rumour and that there is no truth to it.

Do you think that Seth should remain solo on the WU desk? Or is it time to partner up with someone?
