SNL Hires Chicago Improviser
Second City improviser Michael Patrick O'Brien has been hired as an SNL writer. Currently starring in the Second City show "America: All Better!,” he will head to the Big Apple in a couple of weeks to start his job as SNL writer.

Seems like a good choice. Loose rumors about him joining the featured cast, but it turns out he'll be a writer. Who knows, maybe in a year or two he'll make the cast. Many castmembers started out as writers for the show. (Tina Fey, Jason Sudeikis, etc.)
Other new writers: Ryan Perez (via UCBTLA) and Hannibal Buress (via Twitter).
Aw nuts, I thought I got the scoop on Hannibal Buress ! Thanks for the news on Ryan Perez though!
