SNL Hires Chicago Improviser

Second City improviser Michael Patrick O'Brien has been hired as an SNL writer. Currently starring in the Second City show "America: All Better!,” he will head to the Big Apple in a couple of weeks to start his job as SNL writer.

Seems like a good choice. Loose rumors about him joining the featured cast, but it turns out he'll be a writer. Who knows, maybe in a year or two he'll make the cast. Many castmembers started out as writers for the show. (Tina Fey, Jason Sudeikis, etc.)

Another new writer is Jillian Bell from Groundlings in LA
